Header installation
An Engine is an air pump. The only way to gain horsepower & torque is to speed up the process of air entering and exiting the motor. Adding long tube headers increases flow and exhaust scavenging, increasing engine efficiency and producing more power.
Exhaust System Installation
Like Long tube headers, having a free-flowing exhaust system also helps the engine increase its efficiency and power output. Exhaust system installations provide both better performance and a better-sounding exhaust note over the stock application.
Intake System Installation
Increasing airflow into the engine is another method for increasing engine performance. A good aftermarket intake system is crucial for those looking for the most out of their vehicle.
Aftermarket Camshaft Installation
Aftermarket camshafts change the volumetric efficiency (VE) of a motor so that it’s less efficient down low (idling/cruising) and more efficient up top (WOT). They do this by changing the valve lift and duration. This can also change the idle sound (chop) if selecting a camshaft with an aggressive LSA (lobe separation angle).
Aftermarket Cylinder Head Installation
Like aftermarket camshafts, aftermarket cylinder heads also change VE, but in a different way. Aftermarket cylinder heads will be “ported.” This means the intake & exhaust ports are enlarged to allow more airflow into and out of the combustion chamber, making your engine much more efficient. This is why heads and cams are so commonly paired together.
Turbo/Supercharger install
By far, the best aftermarket parts are definitely forced induction systems like turbocharging & supercharging. These systems force more air than barometric pressure (boost pressure) into the engine, causing a big increase in cylinder pressure (increasing horsepower & torque).
Nitrous Installation
A nitrous oxide system may be best for those who want to add a lot of power at a low cost. These systems work by injecting nitrous oxide and fuel into the motor via the intake path (an intake tube to the intake manifold. Injecting nitrous oxide increases the amount of oxygen molecules in the engine’s combustion chamber, which allows more fuel to be ignited. This causes bigger combustion, higher cylinder pressure, and more power.
